Well, if you haven’t been able to tell enough via this blog or my Instagram… this past weekend was the Oscars. And so as my Oscar recaps aren’t quite done yet, today’s post is dedicated to the full look that I only showed snippets of on Instagram. When I think Oscars, I think instant glam with beautiful wavy locks and pretty glitter filled sequin dresses. But as I was an attendee to some Oscar festivities this past Sunday, I got inspired to take my look in another direction– one with a little more funk, edge, and hip fashion. When you look at this outfit, it seems like a no-brainer that it came altogether. But in fact, the top and bottom were two completely different pieces that somehow pieced together like two puzzle pieces that have been missing forever. Pairing this velvet poncho croplet that included an epicly gold turtleneck beaded top with a simple long black skirt, all that was missing from this look was the perfect hairdo. I typically go for the long and wavy curls but this time, I wanted to do something different, something unique that would bring this outfit to its fullest potential. Always aspiring to do the braided updo, I finally went for it with this look and couldn’t have thought of a better moment. Feeling a touch of a medieval theme, I felt completely like the Dark Horse Ms. Katy Patra sings about– the undertaker coming with a bang in full force.
