Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, Kylie, Kendall. When you hear those names, you already know we’re talking about the widely acclaimed and incredibly popular– KARDASHIANS. Love them or hate them, this family has created an increasingly impressive empire in everything you can imagine from clothing lines, to beauty brands, online virtual games, and even their new apps! But now, there are going to be a few other Dash’es in the mix adding onto their empire in the form of E!’s new widely talked about TV series, DASH Dolls. Making a spin-off from the hit Keeping Up With The Kardashians series, this eight episode, one-hour show will take us into the daily lives of employees of their upscale D-A-S-H boutique led by Khloe’s best friend Malika Haqq and twin sister Khadijah. Beautiful, fun, and stylish, these DASH “dolls” represent nothing short of their doll title, making it easy to see that these girls will quickly be loved and infatuated by all of America.

I’m so excited that I got the chance to interview and shoot with one of the gorg leading ladies of the upcoming series, Durrani Popal, who I already instantly bonded over for being Middle Eastern like me! Originally a San Francisco native, Durrani always had an interest and desire to capitalize in the world of fashion and that’s just what she’s doing. Sweet, down-to-earth, and super stylish (with the most adorable little dog Laurent and prettiest little hot pink car), I have no doubt that Durrani is also soon going to become a household name amongst the rest of the Kardashian clan.

Fashionlaine: How did you get into the “DASH” world? What inspired you to want to work at the store and get into fashion?

Durrani Popal:

I moved to LA to go to school at FIDM. I always knew that I wanted to have my own clothing line and be part of the fashion world. During my last year at FIDM I thought who better to work for then the Kardashian sisters after seeing how they were three strong business women that were able to accomplish it all. I was lucky to have then gotten a job at DASH and went on to work there for about four years before the show.

FL: What can viewers expect from this new series

? DP:

Without giving much away… viewers can expect drama, drama, drama, Whether it be between the Dolls that work in the store, getting in trouble by a boss, or boyfriend drama.

FL: Many people look to you now as a fashion inspiration, who would you say is/are your fashion inspirations and why? DP:

I love fashion and I can’t say it’s one specific person or line. I am into chic and fashionable clothes. I’m not really into color for clothing– I like black, white, khaki/army green, tans, and nudes.

FL: Tell me about your new jewelry line that just came out. What inspired you to make it and do you have a favorite piece from the collection? DP:

I love jewelry and have always wanted to design pieces that represent me. My line is very dainty and chic and I like to wear layered pieces which is why the necklaces are designed dainty so that they can be stacked. My favorite pieces include the Arabic name necklace which is a personalized piece that can be custom made for anyone, and also the evil eye necklace to keep away the haters haha.

FL: Do you have a fashion trend that you are currently loving and can’t live without? DP:

I love everything khaki / army green right now, so I’m into wearing anything in that color scheme.

FL: What’s one thing people may not know about you right off the bat?

DP:

I’m a very shy person. You would never know that from what you see on camera, but I’m more comfortable on film than I am in person.

FL: Do you have anything else coming up that fans can look forward to? DP:

I am currently working on my own clothing and beauty lines as well!
