Awards season. It’s probably the most wonderful time of the year (well…between that and Christmas). And while many spend weeks leading up to the biggest award ceremonies like the Golden Globes prepping outfits, speeches, and catching up on movies, TV, and more– there’s one other part of it all that is equally essential– the parties. Pre-parties, after parties, gifting suites, luncheons, and more, this week Los Angeles was filled with celebrations honoring all of your favorite actors, writers, directors, and so forth in TV and Film that as my adventures on Instagram (@iamfashionlaine) showed, I got an exclusive insider peek to share with all of you.
It all began last Thursday when Miss Golden Globe Sosie Bacon (daughter of Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick) helped officially kick off the Globes by rolling out the red carpet at the iconic and beautiful Beverly Hilton. Celebrating her reign as this year’s Miss Golden Globe, the Hollywood Foreign Press hosted a luncheon in Sosie’s honor which consisted of the perfect meal, the perfect drinks (we got to taste the first ever official Golden Globes cocktail called the “Moët Golden Night” whipped up by celebrity chef Aida Mollenkamp) and the perfect convos with the adorable Sosie about her excitement on presenting at the show. Taking that excitement and celebrations all the way through the weekend and the nights, LA was filled with back to back pre-parties all around town honoring the biggest and greatest. Yet it was Audi and their annual party at Cecconi’s that stole the weekend for me as the best pre-party of the Globes. From Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber sitting intimately in a corner catching up with some friends to Karina Smirnoff breaking it down on the dance floor, anyone that was anyone was at this party– making it into one of those parties that you just didn’t want to leave even when the lights turned on. But of course, with great parties also come great presents (and gifting suites). From L’Ermitage Hotel in Beverly Hills and the GBK and Pilot Pen Luxury Gift Lounge featuring brands including Yoplait, airweave, The Wine Room, Burke Williams Spa, GUARDaHEART, and more to the SLS Hotel and the Secret Room Style Lounge benefiting PETA, the weekend was not complete until hitting up a suite and getting some of the best goodies and treats to complete all last minute award essentials and needs. And then, last but not least, one can’t forget about the after parties right after the Globes. Hitting the Beverly Hilton back up again just a few days after a calm luncheon with Sosie, the Hilton was now filled with celebs, fans, security, and more– everyone hustling about the hotel, throughout the staircases, elevators, and lobby, doing some serious party hopping. From the InStyle party that everyone would agree was popping from beginning to end, to the iconic HBO and NBC parties that were always a stopping-by must, to of course the Weinstein party that is without a doubt known to always be a guaranteed good time, the Hilton definitely had its work cut off for itself last night. Yet, I think it was really the super exclusive Diddy party at the soon to be opened 1Oak on Sunset, away from it all and the Hilton, that was surprisingly (or I guess not surprisingly because it’s Diddy) the biggest and best party of them all. With Diddy standing on a table MC’ing the night away and making shout outs to his friends in the crowd including Usher, Ray J, Joaquin Phoenix, and the whole cast of “The Wolf of Wall Street”, I think it’s safe to say, there was never a dull moment in Hollywood this weekend.
