When I was younger, I would wear sneakers all the time. Light ups, tie ups, velcro, you name it. But as I grew older, it seemed to me that sneakers were so not the “cool” thing to do. We were graduating into the age of flats and gladiator sandals and so it seemed that my sneaker fad days were all but a #throwbackthursday at that point. Yet, is it just me or has the sneaker fad actually been ALL the craze these past few years? From the girl who would never be caught dead wearing sneakers to actually now preferring any and every version of them over anything else, it seems like the sneaker craze is not only all the rage, but has become the coolest thing to wear with any and every outfit (I’m pretty sure every “Best Dressed” girl from New York’s Fashion Week in September was sporting a cool pair of sneakers with her ensemble). And clearly I’m definitely not the only one who thinks this because one of the members of fashion royalty (Solange Knowles) just teamed up with PUMA to create this exclusive shoe line of fun and vibrant colors. As Solange says it best, she wanted to create a line and a shoe that “doesn’t make you have to sacrifice your style, especially for a night out with friends for real dancing!”. And Solange, that’s exactly how I feel about these shoes and line too! Keeping my look simple because let’s be real, this outfit needed nothing more than the sneakers itself, it’s easy to see that these shoes run the show (and this outfit)– quite literally.
