FoodInspirationTeaching Motivation Monday: Bouquet Posted on June 10, 2019January 11, 2021 Share 0 What was the last nice thing you said?. . B • O • U • Q • U • E • T. . Today is the final day of the Jewish holiday #Shavuot & I want to share with you the speech I heard at temple as this week’s #MondayMotivation. . Shavuot is the holiday where God gave the Torah to the Jews & is considered “the holiday of flowers” cuz they say when God shared the words of the Torah aloud, it was comparable to that of beautiful flowers. Why flowers you ask? It’s cuz when you think of flowers, you associate giving them to people you love with feelings of joy, sweetness, & happiness. And the giving of the words of the Torah was compared to similar feelings of flowers: love, joy & sweetness. . If you step outside of Shavuot though, this connection of words with sweetness really go hand-in-hand, as words have this undeniable power to really lift up or bring people down. Haven’t you ever noticed when someone says something nice, how it within an instant lights up a room?. . I’ve actually begun to do this thing where I’ll randomly give strangers on the streets compliments on outfits of theirs that I like— it’s become my way of giving something positive within me to someone else. {After the person’s initial shock of a random stranger speaking to them}, you should see just how much their faces light up from my compliment. I truly feel in that moment like I’m seeing my virtual bouquet of words make someone else’s day in real-time, even if just for a second. . What’s important about this concept of words though is to remember not to just give these “bouquets” to others you love, but to remember to also give them to the most important person you know—yourself. Because often of times, we are the LEAST giving to ourselves—as we easily put ourselves down with negativity & the most un-“bouquet-like” words. . So for this #MondayMotivation in honor of this floral holiday, I want you this week to turn every word that comes out of your mouth into ONLY pretty flowers. Go up to a random stranger & give a compliment, and stand in front of the mirror & say something NICE to yourself. What you speak is what you attract & may we all only attract the sweetest bouquets this week! 🌼🌺🌷🌸🌼 ll #inspilaine XOXO
