Over the past few years I’ve tried to figure out the solution to my ever-long battle with t-shirts. I’ve loved so many of them for so long, but the awkward crew necks and baggy sleeves seemed to always get in the way of me furthering my love or appreciation. One day I was inspired to try something new and put a twist to these standard tops– taking away everything I didn’t like about them. Starting to cut off the sleeves and transform the typical crew neck into a cute v-neck, within an instant, my shirts became whole new beings and pieces that I would definitely wear repeatedly (and do). From that moment on, whenever I’m out shopping and see a cute tee, I go out of my way to buy the shirts, seeing any opportunity I have to Laine-ify them. It just comes to show, when there is a will, there’s a way! If you want to wear something but aren’t loving it completely, step outside the box and see what you can do to make it your own and wear it like you’ll love it. Anything as crazy as a t-shirt throwback to the Ninja Turtles in a foreign language suddenly goes from dorky and lame to fabulous and fun.
