I had soo been there and done that with Israel in that past– doing all the given things one does when they go to Israel from camel rides, to nights in the bedouin tents, chilling in the Dead Sea, and hikes to Masada. So on my most recent trip to Israel I wanted to do everything and anything that was what a typical Israeli would go to and do while living in Israel! I had stayed in Jerusalem in the past on some organized trips, really getting the feel for all that was Israel. So this time I decided to stay in the city of Tel Aviv where all the things from the IT restaurants to hit nightclubs were going down.
While my trip to Israel was a quick and short-lived one (being there in total for four days), I was able to get a good rundown of some of the amazing things to do there and THUS, I am bestowing upon you the best of the best of what I loved while I was there so you too can enjoy on your next trip to Israel!
LIVING
AirBNB
As I’m a girl of the AirBNB route through and through these days, I decided to continue this trend on my stop in Tel Aviv finding the cutest, most colorful, and airy little apartment right by the beach. I had asked my Israel expert friends on where the best area would be to be by while there and they all had recommended close to Frishman, so that’s the route I went with and it did NOT disappoint! Our place was literally walking distance to the beach and all of the fun restaurants, that we were able to pretty much walk everywhere we wanted to go. This place is highly recommended!
TRANSPORTATION
Gett Taxi App
I was asking around to find out what the best way to travel within Israel would be. And while buses were an option, many people had pointed me in the direction of the Gett Taxi App which is like the Uber of Israel. This was so convenient, super fast, and you were able to schedule taxis ahead of time if you needed for things like when I wanted to coordinate for heading to the airport. It was so great! EATING & DRINKING When anyone and everyone that I knew that had been to Israel before found out that I was going, they all immediately wanted to send me all of their favorite restaurant recommendations because it seems like Israel has an endless rundown of amazing restaurants to choose from! So while my list below is definitely anything but an extensive one of all the deliciousness Israel has to offer, these are definitely some of the best of the best and are highly recommended if you’re look for the super unique, trendy, and top of the line places to dine while in Israel. MIZLALA One of the most famous chefs in all of Israel, Meir Adoni’s new restaurant had me wanting more. If you’re looking for a fun experience at the restaurant, I would say sitting at the bar is recommended because that’s where you get to see all the action in person. Nahalat Binyamin 57, Tel Aviv CAFE XOHO Photo Credit: Cafe Xoho The first restaurant in Tel Aviv I found that had coffee that finally lived up to my American coffee standard dreams— a latte of love shall I say! This was the cutest and most happening brunch spot that we went to and where are the locals were. The walls and decor inside were quirky and fun and the food was so good. Their Beer Bread and cookies are what they’re known for so definitely give those a try if you stop by! Gordon 17, Tel Aviv VITRINA SAUSAGE GRILL Omg, I’m still to this day thinking about this amazing meal! Noted as the BEST burger in ALLL of Tel Aviv, this is a MUST! And their sweet potato fries with a side of lemonade makes this combo made in burger heaven. Even Gvirol 54, Tel Aviv BELLBOY Photo Credit: www.likealocalguide.com
Bellboy was hands down one of the coolest restaurants that I went to while in Israel that I still think about it! If there was one place I’d definitely recommend going it would be here because the vibe, ambiance, and menu were just so different! Located inside of Hotel B, it was one of those speakeasy type bars that was filled with the coolest concoctions from drinks to food. Everything was presented in a fun and quirky way from drinks brought to you in mini bathtubs with rubber duckies to sea-shell shots brought to you in baby strollers. On top of that, the food was on point and the waiters made this place so fun that you never wanted to leave! It’s really tiny so you definitely have to make a reservation ahead of time but it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for a fun little place to grab a drink before going out.
