Why does it feel like when I was younger, birthdays were really big ordeals, grand events, and gestures? I felt like I always wanted to have super huge parties, invite a bunch of people, and make it a whole thing. While I guess making my birthday a big ordeal hasn’t died down as I’ve dubbed every January as a “birthdayathon”, I do have seen that my take on what I think is a perfect birthday has changed. This year instead of going with a big birthday party and inviting a bunch of people I did and didn’t know, all I wanted to do for my birthday celebration (or pre-birthday as my real bday is on Saturday) was to be with some of my close besties and the ones that I love. Obviously unable to do just a simple brunch like any normal person would probably do as I had to (of course) have a theme, hashtag, and headbands aligned to it, I turned a casual brunch into Fashionlaine style. The location was set at the beautiful and tasty Sonoma Wine Garden in Santa Monica where it was only appropriate for me to create personalized wine glasses for each of my kitties to go along with the kitty themed headbands. And having the ever most purrrfect customized Sprinkles cupcake cake as my official birthday cake, I don’t think I could’ve put together a more ideal celebration for myself. Amazing friends, family, food, and fashion– if this is what another year of growing up looks like, I’m not minding 25 one bit already!
