CANDYLAINE: A SweeT(ARTS) VDay Part 1

Glam / Photography: Mayra Lozano It’s February!! For some, this might be a reminder that another month has passed and a new one has come into existence. But for me… this IMMEDIATELY means one thing and one thing only– VALENTINE’S DAY!!! When February 1st hits, I immediately go into FULL Valentine’s Day mode from picking out all the perfect red & pink themed outfits to creating the cutest heart-shaped cards. And even though Valentine’s Day was designed as a day to dedicate to LOVE (whether that be with your real-life Valentine or cutesy clan of Galentines), let’s be real here.. we ALLL know what the REAL underlying importance of this holiday is about…THE CANDY. Every year I do a fun Valentine’s Day inspired series like last year’s (being one of my absolutely favorites!) of “Love Through The Decades” where I created a classic Valentine’s Day look based off of different eras. But this year, I got inspired to step out of the typical fashion norm and combine TWO of my favorite elements of this holiday together–fashion AND candy. SOOO… coming up with this CRAZY idea that I wanted to bring candy to LIFE in the form of fashion, I wanted to partner with a candy brand that to me DEFINED the Valentine’s Day holiday and was the KEY to complement any and all of your love-themed recipes and crafts for this season. And for me, that meant one brand and one brand only: SweeTARTS. Not only do I love the brand because of their amazing COLORFUL array of candy assortments, but their Valentine’s Day products have gift tags directly on them make giving these treats to any of your loved ones such a breeze. SO ON YOUR MARK, GET SET, GO! For the next two weeks I’m going to be taking you down Candylaine (yes, I’ve always DREAMT of using that word for something!) by bringing the iconic and unique SweeTARTS products to LIFE in fashion and beauty inspired looks like the SweeTARTS Hearts, with their inscriptions on each piece, the SweeTARTS Soft & Chewy Ropes and their yummy and tart punch-flavored center, and the tiny in size but big on flavor SweeTARTS Mini Chewy. Can’t wait for you to see what I came up with–I think it’s safe to say that this will be my TASTIEST series yet! WARNING: LOTS OF CANDY WAS CONSUMED IN THE CREATION OF EACH OF THESE LOOKS 😉
