Valentine’s Day. For those not seeing anyone, it’s widely depicted as “Singles Awareness Day” where people duck and hide for cover and just hope the day passes on by without any acknowledgement whatsoever. And for those who are seeing someone, it’s depicted as Hallmark’s National Holiday where guys are expected to step up their romantic game and woo their counterparts. Either way, it seems like every year, Valentine’s Day is a challenging and struggle filled day for everyone combined. Yet, how I see it, Valentine’s Day in actuality doesn’t have to be either of those. Considering it instead as National You’re-Allowed-To-Eat-As-Much-Chocolate-As-You-Want-And-Not-Feel-Bad-About-It Day, Valentine’s Day to me just symbolizes an extra day in the year where you’re allowed to dress cute, making tasty treats, do adorable things to your nails, and go all out wearing all pink. And for that, Valentine’s Day to me sounds like the best holiday there is. Happy Valentine’s Day from me to you!
