Being My Own Artist

Sooo one of the coolest, most happening, on-the-pulse, and art loving moments and amazing gatherings is going down once again THIS weekend in Miami. It’s called Art Basel. For those of you who are unfamiliar with all that Art Basel is about, it’s where people from all over the world flock to the beautiful beaches of Miami to take in and appreciate all that is art. With shows, galleries, pop-ups, and parties all weekend long, it’s the perfect little getaway for art lovers and anyone that appreciates the fine arts of creativity to accumulate together for an unforgettable weekend.

I was so excited because this was TOTALLY going to be my year to finally partake in all that is “Basel”! Yet, with hectic schedules that get in the way of life, Art Basel no longer was able to be apart of my present in 2015. But that was not going to stop me from still feeling like I was getting involved in one way or another with this epic weekend … which is (naturally) where fashion perfectly swooped in and saved the day. If you remember from a previous post I did where I introduced you to one of my favorite obsession sandal brands Teva. Just in time for Art Basel and the holidays, Teva teamed up with HonestlyWTF to create a DIY kit featuring Swarovski crystals, that fulfills all of my artist dreams and more.

The kit is so cute because it comes with literally everything you need to become a professional artist in under 20 minutes or less. With Swarovski crystals, crazy glue, metallic transfers, thread, application tools, and more, I loved being able to design and put my own spin to these shoes and have the ability to tell people that this “creation” is my own. So if I can’t be at Art Basel, at least I can pretend to be my own artist in spirit!
