“If you want to fly, you must give up what’s weighing you down.”

Do you ever feel like you’re spending your days thinking about things that you just can’t seem to let go? Things that have hurt or frustrated you in the past and still take up space in your mind?.
.
We’ve all been there where events happen in our lives that weigh us down– making us start to build feelings of things like guilt, resentment, worry and stress. It takes a lot of emotional energy to hold onto these negative feelings because things like worrying start to make us weak and stressing out start to make us old. And sometimes it’s REALLY hard to empty out these negative feelings because we’re in so much pain from them. But the problem is… what happens when we allow these feelings to constantly stay and consume our thoughts? They end up taking space for the good things that should be there instead like joy, happiness, confidence and love.
.
Our plans don’t always work out and things will happen in our lives that will make us feel all kinds of negative emotions, it’s only natural. But WE have the choice to decide what we feel, how we think, and how much we want these feelings to stay within us.
.
Someone offended you, it’s so much easier to let that offense stay. Yet, you have to work on pushing yourself past that negative feeling of offense because you know what? At the end of the day, that offended feeling you have will only be affecting you– not them.
.
You’re never going to be where you’re meant to be if you’re too focused on holding onto feelings that are weighing you down. And while we may not be able to keep the bad things from entering our lives or our minds, WE are the ones in control of keeping them from staying there.
.
So for this Monday #inspilaine, start off your week FRESH 🌿, clearing your mind of everything from the past that has taken too much space & is holding you back– and then watch and see all the beautiful things enter into your life that have been impatiently waiting to make room and fit in.
