Leather & Lace

As an Angeleno born and raised, Beverly Center has always been my go-to mall to guarantee me some of my cutest and most chic outfits. Having an array of stores from Louis Vuitton to Forever 21, there seems to just be something there always for any and every shopper. As my motto and mantra has always been that you don’t need to spend a lot of money to look cute or look like a million bucks, I was so excited when I was asked to participate in the 2nd Annual Beverly Center Style Challenge where I was on a budget of $250 to spend at the mall to create my ideal Fall look. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!

Heading to the mall, I already had a vision of what I wanted for my look– a long skirt and a Fall hat (because as you can clearly tell if you follow me on Instagram @iamfashionlaine, I’m super obsessed with hats these days.) Yet, as I was hitting up my go-to favorite stores including Forever 21 and H&M, I started turning in a completely different direction with my look when I came across this long floral lace cardigan and leather capri-type shorts. I guess that’s the beauty of shopping, right?– never knowing what gems you’ll find in the process.

Sticking to my guns to make sure I included my original hat vision though (I mean… how could you NOT include a hat like the one I ended up finding?), and then scoring an amazing deal at Bloomingdales in the process when I was able to get TWO House of Harlow 1960 necklaces for the price of one (one of the necklaces was on sale!)– while this wasn’t my original Fall vision, I’m super happy with what I did end up coming up with. And felt like a million bucks in the process!
