Top Hats and Trousers

Top Hats 1 When I think of Fall, I think of Back to School and those fabulous GAP overalls that I would buy yearly to rock out into in front of my classmates. While many of us thought those days were behind us, I'm so glad to see that the overall/ romper look has returned back in action. Automatically falling in love with these solid long pant ones when I laid eyes on them, these black overalls are universal and perfect for everything from a casual day look to a more fancy night one, as well as ideal for any season we're in. I decided to make today's look a little more hipster, or a little more Heisenberg as many have been calling it, with one of my favorite top hats. With this LA fall where the weather is still not too chilly yet, this look of top hats and trousers with a short sleeve tee is perfect for keeping us in between the cool and warm weather times.

A Million Faces

What I love about having a fashion blog and sharing my outfits with you guys is being able to show off the different crazy combos that I come up with. If someone every told you that they could make a purple and mint bird romper work with studded sneaker wedges and knee high socks rolled down to ankle length would you ever believe them? I wouldn't either. Yet somehow... it kinda crazily works. My outfits and style are always super diverse. I love going from everything from the ultimate boho hipster with long skirts and floppy hats to channeling my inner hood with beanies, Jordans and thick gold chains. Yet through it all, no matter which way I work my look, I believe that my outfits always define my same cohesive style and taste. So it's suiting that the backdrop of this wall is of a million faces, because I feel like it's symbolical of me and my style. Whether I'm a swagged out mama with my studded mint green sneaks and sunnies or being one with the wild in floral headbands and crop tops, I'm always me.

A Cinderella Story

Weddings-- they're so much fun. Pretty florals, cute dances down the aisle, fun crowds, and not to mention the best part, seeing the bride and groom beam with excitement as they walk towards each other to finally get married. This past weekend was an extra special wedding for me because it was one of my best friend's sister’s that I’ve known forever.  But other than the part of being beyond excited to see the wedding go down, I think every girl’s favorite part about being an attendee at one of these beautiful occasions is playing dress up.

Having a dress in mind and nothing else completely prepared, my wedding look was kind of created as I went along, getting inspiration on the go. I started off the day visiting my all-time favorite hair salon, Drybar, where I got the most epic curls I had seen in a while. Afterwards, I went to Bloomies where I got my makeup down by my all-time favorite makeup brand MAC (extra heavy on the smokey eyes and black eyeliner, of course). Completing the look with one of my all-time favorite brands, BCBGMaxazria, this red dress along with the golden curled locks and smokey coal eyes still felt like it was missing something. With the suggestion and inspiration from one of my besties, it was then evident what this outfit still didn't have... a headband. While I used to fully believe that Blair Waldorf was the only one in the world that could pull off headbands at even the grandest of occasions (yes, shockingly I had never worn a headband to a wedding before), I roamed around the whole mall in hopes of finding the perfect one. Not really sure what I was looking for, but just knowing I hadn’t found it quite yet, I ended back where I started, where BCBG was finally the answer to my prayers. Putting the final touch with this jeweled diamond encrusted headband, one can’t help but feel like Cinderella for the evening.
