Fall Transforms x Old Navy

When I think Fall, I think Back To School, and I instantly think Old Navy. Probably because I remember back in my schooling days, my friends and I would do our annual Back To School shopping together, getting our whole wardrobe ready for the new year and Old Navy was a must stop-by in our shopping rounds. As I mentioned yesterday, we're slowly transitioning into the Fall phases over yonder here in LA, and that soon means that we're (or at least I am) going to have to store away my crop tops and shorts and fulfill my closet's needs with warmer and more Autumn-esque clothing. So I thought, instead of dreaming about Fall, why not show you it? Putting together my two favorite must-have looks for the season, one for Day and one for Night, I pull my top two picks for how to look chic this Fall.

Everything about this outfit to me symbolizes Fall. From the maroon pants (which is a must-have color this season) to the button down with the light hue of pink stripes, to of course, these cheetah slippers that I've seriously been dreaming of owning in my closet for months, this outfit is the perfect blend between prep and fun that will make your classmates (or co-workers) maroon with envy.

When looking to spend a night out on the town, the perfect skirt, heels, and top are key from going simple to chic. And while we were all about the mini skirts for those scorching hots days in the Summer, it's all about the mid length skirts for Fall. Over the Summer I was endlessly living in floppy and wide-brimmed hats, yet I foresee my hat game shifting a bit for this season where I'll be bringing in caps and playing them up in unique and unexpected ways like how I did with this outfit.

Winter Wonderlaine: The Hooded Vixen

Winter Wonderland There's something about the winter and about the holidays that instantly fascinates me every year. There's just something charming and sweet about the idea of a Winter Wonderland where you're surrounded by a warm cozy fire while sipping on hot chocolate with friends and loved ones in your best comfy winter clothes and circled in by snow that's frosty and white. Maybe it's the complete LA'er in me that's so intrigued by this idea since I haven't been fortunate enough to experience that perfection of a vision too many times in my life, but whatever it is, the most wonderful time of year deserves a dedicated most wonderful week of the year celebrations. Therefore, this week a Winter Wonderlaine is taking over Fashionlaine, with four days of my take on a modern day Winter Wonderland-- LA style. Today's look, consisting of a mini trench coat white hoodie and pretty sequin sheer skirt, make for the perfect winter outfit (when there's no snow and it's mini skirt weather of course).

The Little Purse That Could

I've been on the hunt for the perfect side purse that I could take with me everywhere. No one wants to lug around a huge purse with them when they're at an event, concert, birthday, or party. So even though I always have a million options I can choose from, I always resort to this tiny black side purse that I call my "Mary Poppins" bag because the small size is so deceiving and in actuality can fit everything I need and more (two cell phones, makeup, my wallet, car keys, and so forth). So when this purse that I cannot live without was finally on its last legs from being used so excessively (aka the strap broke so I literally couldn't use it anymore), I think that was a hint from the fashionista lords that it was time to move on. So when I found this dark Navy Blue (but totally looks black!) Marc by Marc Jacobs purse, it not only made the transition of leaving my old purse behind less painful, but it actually made me even happier. Always a huge Marc Jacobs fan, especially with his bags, this purse is not only beautiful and amazing, but it completely trumps the Mary Poppinesque capabilities of my old purse, fitting everything I needed and more. I typically hate change, but with this one, it was easy for me to go out with the old, and in with the new.
