Making Changes

Changes are hard, changes are not easy. I'm the first person in the world that can quickly say that I hate them the most. But sometimes it's those changes you need to get you to the next place you're meant to be. I've always fully believed in the mentality that one should always do what they love and love what they do. And it seemed like when I was younger, everyone knew exactly what that meant for them, who they wanted to be, and what they were going to be doing. But me, I wasn't quite so sure. Sure, there were things that I liked, but how was a supposed to make something that was my so-called "hobby" into a reality, let alone a real life career? Fast forward to practically three years since I've graduated college, and I look around me and see myself doing exactly what I love-- kind of now looking back at my younger self and feeling like it was almost crazy that I felt so much anxiety about the future.

I started this blog a year ago with a vision... and a floral headband. The message behind my blog was simple-- inspiration. I wanted to simply inspire and show others that they too can follow their dreams and do something that they love, and have fun while doing it. And as I finally take my own advice and make my transition to focusing fully on fashion, this blog, and this message that's so important to me, I don't forget about that little girl who was afraid of the future and afraid that her dreams would never be made into a reality. Sure changes are hard and sure changes are not easy, but as long as you believe in yourself and believe that you're doing the right thing, all you need sometimes are some floral headbands to help guide you along the way to success.

Neon and Florals

I can't believe Coachella is over! It's funny how you talk and build stuff up for days, weeks, and months, and then within seconds, you turn around and see that it's already in the past. I was so happy to go from mildly chilly LA to fabulously sunny Palm Springs (let's disregard Sunday when we experienced the craziest windstorm to ever come upon us). But OTHER than that, the fabulous weather change obviously meant my official commencement of florals, neon, and headbands. And Day One of Coachella consisted of just that. Whether you're tanning by a pool/ sitting on grass fields in Palm Springs or are walking down the street and shopping in LA, having a pair of go-to floral shorts and a neon side purse are both beyond necessities in your spring attire. Outfits don't always have to be serious and formal, and spring reminds us of just that! With some simple change in colors and accessories, one can go from looking plain to looking like you're ready to take over the show.

Taking Chances

Something that I can definitely say about myself is that I'm not afraid to try something new with my wardrobe. Forcing myself to think outside of the box, I strive to put together different and unique combinations and outfits that allow me to show off the different sides of me. Many of times people say phrases to me like "only you would wear that", which at first I wasn't sure if "that" was a good or bad thing. But over time, instead of taking statements like those as negative ones, I started taking them in as the hugest of compliments, believing my style to be unique and different compared to those around me, which I always strive to do. While things like floral pastel leggings and silver metallic Air Jordan 1s combined together can very easily go from hit to miss, I'm not scared to test out the waters and see what happens. I sometimes get stuck in my ways, trying to figure out a solution to pairing my obscure purchases like these pastel florals with the rest of the items in my closet because you can't just wear them with anything. Therefore, being creative and fitting all your pieces together takes some time and takes some art. On a day like this where it was a little chilly outside and I knew I wanted to wear something warm, I had the idea to pull the leggings together with a maroon colored TOMs sweater along with my favorite Jordans and ear cuffs to add that extra umph and swag which ended up creating an outfit that I was was completely in love with-- reaffirming my belief that sometimes, it's okay to take chances.
